This year at Thanksgiving I brought a couple bottles of wine and some cheese and the big surprise was the tater mitts“>tater mitts that I gave to the mother in law. The look on her face was priceless. Everyone wonders what to do with the potatoes and how to get the skins off without losing a ton of the yummy potato that is in side those wonderfully wrapped gifts. With tater mitts you can easily get the skin off and keep all of the potato in tact. Good idea for everyone that loves to make mashed potatoes for dinner.

Have you ever seen the lines in Vegas where people are getting married? You would be surprised how many people go to these drive through chapels and get hitched out here. No corsets no best man .. just a quick and easy marriage. I often wonder how many of them are eloping behind some ones back or against their parents wishes. This has to be the easiest state in the country to get married in. Just go to the license office, get your license right there on the spot and then you are off to anyone with the ability to marry two people. I wonder what the record is for the fastest marriage ever performed in Vegas?

We moved out all of the exercise equipment when Mom and Richard were sure they would be here for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Everything went into the back yard on the porch so we could still work out while they were here. You will see a ton of exercising going on outdoors in peoples back yards as the weather permits it here in Vegas. We turned our work out room, once our office and once before that a small version of a spare bedroom, into the now awesome kick it bedroom. Complete with a big comfortable queen bed, pillow top and a 32″ TV with full cable this new room we added on to the house is pretty cool. We even went so far as to dress up walls this time and added a few cool pictures and some family images to make Mom and Richard more comfortable.
All in all the room is looking pretty good and would be pretty useful if we ever need to have someone spend the night or a few days. Or if we wanted to get a roommate. Nah .. no more roommates.

We were watching some old videos of Britney Spears before the drug treatment centers entered her life. She actually looked like a strapping young lady with a little bit of a future. Why is it that when a star gets their fame on they all of a sudden become someone less desirable? We saw a few videos of her kicking it old school in a mall somewhere. It was pretty funny to see her moving and grooving with a couple dancers. Now .. a few kids and some rehabs later she is still not anywhere near the status that she used to hold. I’m sure her true fans will stay true but as for us … yeah I guess we still like her but damn girl .. get it together.

I really wanted to take my Moms husband out to the golf range to hit some balls while they were here but that is all gone now. He brought his new Mizuno golf clubs out with him and I wanted to show him how awesome the courses were here in Vegas. They had to leave early though so we didn’t get the chance to get out there and knock around a few balls and knock back a few beers while the caddy girl chased our balls in the rough. I really think he would have liked the courses especially the one across from Fry’s .. I hear great things about that course.
Next time they come I will make sure that one of the first things we do is get out to the golf course and at least hit nine holes.

What is a vacation if you are not willing to enjoy yourself? It’s a Vaca Shun. We had some relatives in town for a vacation that got cut short because of an illness in the family. It is hard to see them go as we have not seen then in 5 years. They had to go home to the other side of the country for the passing of another relative. I felt a little mad when I heard the news but that quickly turned to sad and then really sad. I totally understand the need to leave however I didn’t get the time that I wanted to have with my family. I don’t get to see them very often and now that they are gone again I am totally sad. I want to cry but I will not let that happen while everyone else is around. I miss them already and it kinda feels like they were never here. Instead of three weeks with my family I got to see them for three days. I don’t deal well with deaths of family members or anyone for that matter. I don’t like death and I sometimes feel it is unnecessary. We all have to die sometime but it sure would be nice to be able to pick that time. Maybe we are ready maybe we are not .. but that is the one choice we can not make on our own.

If there is one thing we know about in this house it is pain. Muscle, joint and just general body aches and pains. We are one of the lucky ones that got to sample the new Freeze It Gel, and after using it a couple times noticed serious relief of muscle pain. Ern was a soldier and was seriously injured while on duty at his last duty station in Colorado. His injuries were so severe that he was removed from service and now has to deal with the pain caused by a broken neck, lower back, shoulder muscle and hyper extended elbow pain. To say that he is in pain constantly is a serious understatement. While the muscles heal and the pain comes and goes it seems that he is always nursing his injuries. The VA is not a huge help in keeping him comfortable even though his injuries were service connected. There seems to be a lot of that going around these days.
When we got the Freeze It Gel in the mail I was excited to try it out on him plus I love to make him my guinea pig for everything I get to try out. I used the Gel on his shoulder and neck and right away he said that he could feel the relief. For a few hours he would let me know that his pain was much less and that he really felt pretty comfortable. You can’t imagine how happy that made me feel.
Freeze It does so many things. Not only does it relieve muscle pain but it also is said to relieve joint pain as well as arthritis. Great for people that do a lot on computers and need relief in their hands from typing all day. As a product I recommend Freeze It. I like the way it makes Ern feel and I am glad to see that he gets some relief from their pain relief gel. If you are experiencing any kind of muscle or joint pain I would recommend that you give Freeze It a try.

Whats on the strip? We went to the Las Vegas Strip yesterday and it looks very different than I remember. The last time I went to the strip there was not as much construction as I saw yesterday. There is so much going on down there that I could hardly see the strip. The hotels all have huge cranes and blockades around them. Maybe they are gearing up for the next tourist season in spring. The strip is starting to look like Hollywood Blvd. with all the sidewalk tunnels and detours for the pedestrians.
I can’t wait to see the strip when they are done beating it up. It has always been a neat sight especially at night with all of the casinos lit up and flashing lights everywhere. I really wonder what it will be like when they are done.
